W. Kent Fuchs, President

I am pleased to announce two searches for leadership positions at the University of Florida.

Vice President and General Counsel

A search committee has been formed and is being chaired by Dr. Charlie Lane, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, to support the search for the University’s Vice President and General Counsel. Reporting to the President, the Vice President and General Counsel is a member of the President’s Cabinet, serves as the University’s chief legal officer, and is responsible for the supervision and management of legal matters affecting the University of Florida.

Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Advisor to the President

We also have launched the search for the University of Florida’s first Chief Diversity Officer. A search committee has been formed and is being chaired by Dr. Cammy Abernathy, Dean of the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. The Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Advisor to the President also is a member of the President’s Cabinet, with strategic responsibility for promoting and enabling inclusive excellence for faculty, students, and staff.
