Search launched for PHHP dean

I am pleased to announce the formation of a search advisory committee to head a national search for the next dean of the UF College of Public Health and Health Professions.

Peter Swaan, dean of the College of Pharmacy, will chair the committee, assisted by the search firm Spencer-Stuart. 

The other committee members are David Bloom, Charles Ellis, Jr., Mark Evans, Stephen Kimmel, Lorie Marin, Mattia Prosperi, Lee Revere, Brendan Rich and Krista Vandenborne.

The committee expects to identify and recommend finalists in the fall. I thank Dean Swaan and the other committee members for taking on this important work. 

The new dean will succeed Beth Virnig, who will remain in her position until the new dean arrives. Dean Virnig has led PHHP since 2022, and I am grateful for her service.
