A new contract (bid #97J-34YC) for stationery and business cards has been negotiated by the university which offers outstanding prices and service. The three selected printers are Double M, Ameriprint and UF Printing and Graphics. While some small orders may be slightly higher than last year, most prices are lower. A year ago, 10 reams of stationery or 10 boxes of envelopes were 26 percent higher, and three years ago business cards were 66 percent more.

The Office for Student Financial Affairs would like to clarify the appropriate procedures for paying student scholarships/awards when service is a condition of that award.
Auditors recently identified instances where colleges/departments were treating these awards as scholarships and processing them as college-awarded scholarships. Scholarships, by definition, are considered to be gifts to the recipients and cannot require service as a condition of receipt.

The Collective Bargaining Agreement states that each graduate assistant shall be evaluated in writing for each appointment which is one semester or longer. This evaluation is to cover the assigned duties and responsibilities as are appropriate to the assignment.
