Faculty Assignment for Senate Service

President Young has asked the Senate to take a leadership role in addressing important issues on this campus. As a result, service in the Senate should be recognized as an important part of a faculty member’s overall contribution to this campus.

Chairs and directors should recognize this participation through an appropriate assignment of effort in the “Governance” category on the Semester Faculty Assignment Forms that are filled out each semester. For those faculty actively engaged in the Senate, participation in Senate activities is to be considered a normal component of a department service assignment.
