On August 1, the University will launch new Web-based reporting tools that will provide a simple way to view, create or download reports from existing yet improved data sources, including personnel data, financial data, payroll history data, directory data and student data. Authorized users will be able to use these tools via the myUFL portal (http://my.ufl.edu) to produce pre-defined, delivered reports as well as to define new ones.

On July 1, 2004, these tools, along with other PeopleSoft reporting and analytical tools, will be integrated with the PeopleSoft financial, personnel and payroll systems. The data warehouses will house data from both the current UF legacy systems as well as the new PeopleSoft systems.

This is the first step toward the Enterprise Reporting envisioned and defined early in the UF Bridges (ERP) project. The long-term vision is to provide broad access to comprehensive data warehouses; provide common tools for the entire campus; provide reports and functionality to meet the needs of all users; and, to provide self-service, on-demand access. Using the new warehouse and tools, many more people can get access to the data they need to make decisions and manage their resources.

For this initial launch, a limited amount of data and reports will be available. This is an early opportunity for employees to familiarize themselves with this product so that they are well-positioned to use it on July 1, 2004. These reporting tools are the only ones supported by the University for the new PeopleSoft systems.
