I am pleased to announce that Dr. W. Andrew McCollough, Senior Associate Dean in the UF Warrington College of Business Administration, has been appointed to serve as Associate Provost for IT, E-Learning and Distance Education, effective July 1, 2009.

Dr. McCollough is a professor of finance and has served as an associate dean of the college for the past 18 years. Prior to that, he served as Chair of the Department of Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate. He currently serves as chair of several university committees including the General Education Committee. This semester, he has served as interim associate provost for undergraduate affairs.

Dr. McCollough received an undergraduate degree in Industrial Management from the University of Florida in 1957. After serving several years as an Army aviator, he returned to the University of Florida and received a Ph.D. in Business and Economics in 1971 and then became a faculty member at UF.

His research interests have included financial markets and business ethics. He was formerly the director of the Center for Business Ethics Education and Research. He has been designated “Teacher of the Year” or “Outstanding Teacher” several times at the college and university level and has served as chair of the university’s Graduate Teaching Awards Committee.
