PLEASE FORWARD THIS INFORMATION TO YOUR FACULTY

Ceremonies: This summer, there will be two (2) university- wide commencement ceremonies. Please note that the format for the Summer 2009 Commencement Ceremonies has been modified from previous summer ceremonies. Instead of having two university-wide ceremonies divided by college (with both graduate and undergraduate students), this term we will have a separate Advanced Degree Ceremony (Saturday, August 8th at 10:00am) and a university-wide (all colleges) ceremony for Bachelor Degree candidates (Saturday, August 8th at 2:00pm). Both ceremonies will be held in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. Please see the Commencement Website at http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/commencement/ under the heading Ceremonies Schedules for additional information. The College of Pharmacy has a separate ceremony on Saturday, August 8th at 10:00am in the HPNP Auditorium.

Ordering Regalia: The deadline for ordering academic regalia is Friday, June 19, 2009. Information on ordering regalia is available from the UF Bookstore (392-0194). An order form may be found at http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/commencement/ under the heading Instructions for Faculty. Payment is required when placing an order. Formal academic regalia is required for all faculty members attending commencement.

Faculty Escorts: Candidates for the Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Education, and Doctor of Plant Medicine degrees will be assigned an official commencement escort. Faculty designated as escorts will receive letters from the Office of the Provost with further details about responsibilities and assembly times. This letter is generally sent two weeks prior to commencement. However, if you have a graduate student scheduled to graduate during the summer term, please order your regalia on or before the June 19th deadline.
