I am pleased to announce the appointment of George C. Kolb, Jr., to the position of Director, University Budgets. His appointment is effective October 12, 2015.

George brings a wealth of knowledge to his new position with over 22 years of progressive experience in business, administrative and budget responsibilities in UF colleges, departments and direct support organizations (DSOs). He has direct knowledge of, and experience with, the wide ranging needs of both the academic and research communities at UF. Most recently he served as Director of Business Services for the Office of Research and University of Florida Research Foundation. Prior to that he was Associate Director, Medical and Health Administration for the College of Nursing.

George holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in Decision and Information Sciences from the University of Florida.

George brings experience and vision to his new role. As Budget Director he will oversee the day to day functioning of the Budget office and the development of the university budget and budget system. In addition, he is committed to working with the CFO team to improve the university’s budget process and to improving lines of communication with UF departments and organizations.
