Payment is required when placing an order.
Formal academic regalia is required for all faculty members participating in the ceremonies as platform party members or as an escort/hooding faculty member for doctoral candidates.
Faculty escorts for candidate hooding
Candidates for the Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Education, and Doctor of Plant Medicine degrees will invite a faculty member to serve as their escort and hooder.
Candidates for Doctor of Business Administration, Doctor of Nursing Practice and Doctor of Occupational Therapy will be hooded by designated faculty members from their respective programs.
Faculty serving as escorts should familiarize themselves with the ceremony particulars – https://commencement.ufl.edu/fall/doctoral-escorts/
The Commencement Office will be sending out escort confirmation letters with the same particulars found on the above webpage. If you wish to receive a confirmation letter, please submit the escort information to the Graduate Information Management System (UF GIMS) by October 16th, 2025.
Independently, candidates will supply their escort information for ceremony announcement to the third-party vendor system, Tassel.
Marshal Robes
Faculty members serving as marshals at the university-wide ceremonies do NOT need to order academic regalia; a marshal robe will be provided free of charge for use during the ceremonies. If you are an escort and would also like to serve as a marshal, please contact your college’s commencement coordinator to volunteer.
