Indirect Cost Rate

Karen A. Holbrook, Ph.D., Vice President for Research and Graduate Education

Please be advised that the Indirect Cost Rate on all new on-campus Sponsored Research projects, with beginning dates on or after July 1, 1998, will be subject to an indirect cost rate of 44.5 percent of modified total direct costs. Continuing Sponsored Research projects with beginning dates prior to July 1, 1998 will be subject to the old rate of 45 percent of modified total direct costs for the remaining life of the projects.

This slight decrease in the indirect cost rate for on-campus research beginning on or after July 1, 1998, is the result of negotiation with the Department of Health and Human Services. No other University of Florida indirect cost rates are affected by this change.

Please contact Tom Walsh at 2-1582 or John Kruczek 2-1321, if you have questions or need additional information.
