Assistant Vice President for Marketing Appointment

After a national search, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Melanie Schramm as Assistant Vice President of Marketing effective July 10, 2020. Ms. Schramm has more than 16 years of experience in marketing specific to higher education brand management, positioning strategy, university licensing and brand perception.  As Assistant Vice President for Marketing, she will provide leadership in managing the university’s brand and marketing strategy to advance the university’s national reputation.

Ms. Schramm is a recognized marketing leader within higher education whose innovative work has received numerous awards and national citations.

Ms. Schramm has served as the Director of Higher Education Consulting for Eddy Alexander, an international marketing, advertising and public relations agency in Roanoke, Va., for the past year partnering with national universities and colleges on marketing and communication strategies to advance and build brand stories.  She previously served as Director of Marketing, at Virginia Tech. During this time, she successfully led university-wide marketing, including brand development, enrollment growth and, directing university digital marketing innovations.  Her previous roles include marketing leadership positions at Purdue University and Michigan State University. Ms. Schramm brings a track record of demonstrated success growing brands, leading marketing strategy. 

Ms. Schramm holds a Master of Education from the College of William and Mary and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University.
