After a successful tenure as the first Chief Diversity Officer at the University of Florida, Antonio Farias will leave for a new position as vice chancellor at the University of Colorado Denver.

Farias said he made the decision for family reasons and to take advantage of a unique opportunity to serve as vice chancellor for diversity, equity and inclusion at CU Denver, which is launching a major new initiative to reimagine its DEI programs. Farias came to UF in July 2018 from Wesleyan University, where he was vice president for equity and inclusion. He will start in his new position on March 15.

A university wide search committee will conduct a national search for the next UF Chief Diversity Officer.  Vice President for Human Resources Jodi Gentry will chair the search committee with the assistance of Audrey Gainey, the director of talent acquisition with the UF Strategic Talent Group.
