Retirement of Jodi Gentry, Vice President for Human Resources

After 30 years of dedicated service to the University of Florida, Vice President for Human Resources Jodi Gentry has announced that she will retire at the end of this calendar year. A search for UF’s new vice president and chief human resources officer will be announced in the near future.

Under Jodi’s leadership, UFHR introduced paid family and medical leave; reimagined its employment branding, sourcing and recruitment strategies that informed the Faculty 500, AI hiring and leadership searches; began to craft a long-term compensation strategy for faculty and staff; was instrumental in bringing about increases in the minimum wage for TEAMS and USPS employees; and introduced a modernized approach to staff evaluations.

Prior to her role as vice president, Jodi served as a leader in the field of training and organizational development — helping to launch and lead transformational leadership development programs like the UF Academy and the Advanced Leadership for Academics and Professionals programs, expanding the university’s personal and professional development offerings, and guiding university faculty and staff through numerous periods of change.

It would not be a stretch to say that Jodi has touched the lives of innumerable employees at the University of Florida at some point in their careers. I hope you will join me in wishing her the very best.
