Appointment of Dr. Marco Salemi as Interim Director of the UF Emerging Pathogens Institute

David Norton, Vice President for Research

UF Research is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Marco Salemi as interim director of the UF Emerging Pathogens Institute (EPI), effective November 8, 2024.  EPI is a university-wide institute that facilitates interdisciplinary studies of new and emerging human, animal, and plant pathogens of concern to Florida, the nation and the world.  Dr. Salemi, who is currently an associate director within EPI and professor within the Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine in the College of Medicine, succeeds Dr. J. Glenn Morris Jr., the founding director who has led EPI for the past 17 years.  We are most grateful to Dr. Morris for his leadership of EPI for many years.

Please join me in thanking Dr. Marco Salemi for his willingness to serve in this capacity.
