New Area Code for the University

The University of Florida Campus and the Gainesville area will be assigned a new Area Code beginning December 3, 1995. A grace period where either the old area code “904” and the new “352” can be used and the call will still be completed will extend to May 20, 1996.

The Telecommunications Office wanted to make you aware of this change now because there will be an impact on departmental planning for stationery, business cards, etc. If you have questions or concerns, please call Telecommunications at 392-1146.
