Submission of Spring 2000 Course Adoption Information

James B. Morgan, Director

The on-line textbook and course material adoption system was deployed July, 1999. Since the initial deployment, numerous enhancements have been added to improve the efficiency of the system. Additions include search functions by course, department, or section; historical course adoption information; a delete or change adoption function; a link for student viewing from ISIS, and the capability to adopt required CIRCA computer lab applications. The student viewing application was previewed during the Fall Semester drop/add period. Students who accessed the system unanimously endorsed it and requested that information on all courses be provided (as adoption information was received on only 62% of the courses).

With the cooperation of faculty and staff from all academic units, textbook and course material requirements for Spring Semester 2000 can be made available to students at Spring registration. The target date for submission of Spring 2000 textbook and course material adoptions is October 15, 1999.

The Business Services Division Information Technology Department is offering training and information sessions to all interested faculty and staff. Workshops will be held in Room 282 of the Reitz Union on:

Tuesday October 5 2:30 - 3:30 PM
