Appointment of Interim Vice President

Charles E. Young, Interim President

I am pleased to announce that Ed Poppell has been named Interim Vice President for Administrative Affairs effective Sept. 1. He currently serves as Associate Vice President for Administrative Affairs, a position he has held since 1990.

Mr. Poppell’s UF career spans 29 years. He joined the university’s Finance and Accounting Division in 1971 after earning a degree in Business from Florida State University. He also holds a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Florida. Within Administrative Affairs, Mr. Poppell has served as Assistant to the Vice President and Assistant Vice President.

I will name a committee to search for a permanent appointee. Please join me in congratulating Ed Poppell as he assumes increased challenges and opportunities.
