New Faculty Orientation
Melissa Curry, Vice President for UF Human Resources
Chris Flowers Hass, Associate Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs
UF Human Resources has partnered with the Office of the Provost and the Center for Teaching Excellence to help welcome new faculty to the University of Florida by sharing information about available UF resources and services.
Coming up on Aug. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the in-person New Faculty Orientation and resource fair offers opportunities for new faculty to connect with key campus departments and participate in faculty-led table discussions. An invitation has been emailed to new faculty, and an RSVP is required to attend. Questions can be directed to Courtney Moon at courtney.moon@ufl.edu.
Additionally, an online New Faculty Orientation is available on Canvas throughout the academic year. Modules include videos, helpful information about UF and links to classes and programs designed to support faculty during their first year.
Starting Aug. 17, new faculty are also invited to participate in a series of live Zoom information sessions to learn more about the university and available resources. Information about upcoming sessions has been emailed to new faculty and can also be found on the New Faculty Orientation webpage, along with additional guidance on how to prepare for their arrival at UF.
To assist with welcoming new faculty, departments are encouraged to use UFHR’s onboarding resources.
Thank you for your support in welcoming our new faculty to the University of Florida.
