Spring 2027 Textbook Adoptions and Syllabus Posting

University of Florida Regulation 7.049 and Florida Board of Governors Regulation 8.003 require that all required and recommended textbooks and instructional materials, along with course syllabi, be posted no later than 45 days before the start of the term. These materials must appear within the University’s course registration system and be publicly accessible on the UF website. Timely posting supports students in managing academic workload and financial planning related to course materials.

Textbook Adoption Requirements
The textbook adoption system for Spring 2027 is now open. Faculty and units may submit adoptions at: textadoption.ufl.edu.

Submission deadlines for compliance:
Spring 2027: November 13, 2026

Adoptions submitted after the deadlines listed above are out of compliance.

To support timely UF Bookstore ordering and to enhance student planning, we strongly encourage early submission of Spring 2027 materials by October 26, 2026.

Simple Syllabus for Spring 2027 is now open. Faculty and support staff may submit syllabi at: ufl.simplesyllabus.com

Starting in Spring 2027:

  1. The “Recommended Materials” component in Simple Syllabus will be pre-populated reflecting recommended course materials as listed in the UF Textbook Adoption system.
  2. AI use statements are now required by the state to be part of all syllabi. The levels of permitted/integrated AI use for students and faculty are provided as choices in Simple Syllabus new components, so instructors indicate what is appropriate for each course. Options include a customizable statement for Instructor Use of AI.

All UF syllabi are housed in Simple Syllabus, a system integrated with Canvas. The platform provides a consistent template that aligns with UF syllabus policy, Board of Governors expectations, and State law requirements.

Faculty members are responsible for completing all editable components of Simple Syllabus.

Florida Board of Governors’ Regulation 8.003 outlines the requirements for the posting of syllabi of courses, sections of courses, or instructors who are added after the 45-day period.
