Military Leave Policy

David R. Colburn, Provost

Pursuant to state and federal laws, the University of Florida has implemented a military leave policy for employees called to active duty in the current deployment of forces.

Employees who are called to active duty should notify their supervisors immediately. Formal orders to report should be submitted as soon as they are available. Before leaving for active military service, employees with insurance and retirement benefits need to contact University Benefits and University Retirement.

The terms of the military leave policy have been outlined in a table available on the web at http://www.ups.ufl.edu/cleave/militaryleave.pdf Additional information and a checklist for employees called to active duty are available at http://www.ups.ufl.edu/cleave/militaryleave.htm

This policy will remain in effect through June 30, 2002, at which point it may be reviewed and revised.

Questions about this policy may be addressed to Steve Wing (steve-wing@ufl.edu) and Janet Malphurs (jmmalph@ufl.edu).
