Honorary Degrees

David R. Colburn, Provost

The Committee on Honorary Degrees needs your help. Awarding an honorary degree to a person accomplishing remarkable achievements of lasting significance and value is one of the hallmarks of great universities. These luminaries enhance the standing of the institution by accepting this honor.

This practice has been followed by the University of Florida, albeit sparingly. Nominations from faculty are essential in identifying possible recipients. Please encourage your faculty members to consider such nominations.

The rules and procedures can be found at http://www.prezoffice.ufl.edu/urhand.htm#Honors
