College of Engineering CETS moving to OIT-Network Services

Chuck Frazier, Vice Provost for Information Technology

I am pleased to announce that the Computer & Electronic Technical Services/Digital Design Facility (CETS/DDF) previously hosted within the College of Engineering has become part of the OIT-Network Services organization. CETS/DDF has served the University of Florida community since the mid- 1980s. The move of the network installation team brings value to the newly created OIT-Network Services organization. For a compilation of services offered, visit the web site: http://www.eng.ufl.edu/home/ddf/networksvcs.htm.

This move also consolidates network services into one organization and is in keeping with the recommendations of the IT review committee that UF create a new customer-driven, service-oriented, central provider of network infrastructure responsible for the UF campus and its remote locations.

CETS has become the OIT-NS Building Network Infrastructure Group. To request a quotation for new network installations, please send email to net-services@ufl.edu or phone 392-2061. Staff are housed in the OIT-Annex (building #34) located to the north of the Bryant Space Sciences Research building.
