The Division of Human Resources is pleased to announce the following guidelines for the October 1, 2002, salary increases, provided by the 2002 Florida Legislature. Eligible full-time employees will receive the following salary increases, the calculations for which are based on September 30, 2002, salaries. All eligible full-time employees will receive a minimum increase of $600, and part-time employees will receive a pro-rated increase.

Employees Exceeding Current Pay Grade Maximums
It is the intent of the legislature that minimums and maximums of each pay grade shall be increased by 2.5 percent, effective October 1, 2002. If an employee’s base rate of pay is equal to or greater than the adjusted maximum of the employee’s pay grade after the maximum of the pay grade is increased by the competitive pay adjustment, the employee will be granted a one-time, lump-sum payment in lieu of an increase to the employee’s base rate of pay. When an employee’s base rate of pay is less than the adjusted maximum of the employee’s pay grade, the employee’s salary will be increased to the adjusted maximum, and the portion of the increase that exceeds the adjusted maximum shall be granted instead in a one-time lump-sum payment.

Detailed instructions regarding these pay increases and pay ranges effective October 1, 2002, may be found at http://www.hr.ufl.edu/departmental/salary.htm.
