Proposed UF Water Institute; Faculty Launch Team Call for Nominations

On September 16, 2004, the University of Florida Faculty Senate endorsed the concept of a campus-wide Water Institute and recommended that a Faculty Launch Team be formed to proceed with establishment of the Institute.

Principal activities of the Launch Team will include:

* Develop a draft strategic plan for the Water Institute.

* Develop a draft business plan for the Water Institute.

* Develop a position description for a Director of the Water Institute.

* Serve as search and screen committee to conduct a search for a Director.

The Faculty Launch team will report directly to the UF Vice President for Research. A copy of the Water Institute Task Force Report can be found at www.senate.ufl.edu/minut_agen/waterInstitute.pdf.

If you are interested in serving on the Faculty Launch Team, or know of a colleague who should be considered, please send an email with the name and two page NSF style curriculum vitae of the nominee to Vice President Winfred Phillips at wphil@ufl.edu. Multiple nominations and self-nominations are appropriate.

Nominations are due by October 15, 2004.
