Promotion of Myra Morgan to Director of Student Development and External Affairs

Please join me in congratulating Ms. Myra Morgan on her promotion to Director of Student Development and External Affairs for the Division of Student Affairs. Effective with this announcement, Myra will assume responsibility for Sorority and Fraternity Affairs, External Resource Development, and Special Events Coordination for the Division of Student Affairs.

Myra Morgan first joined the University of Florida staff in 1985 as an Assistant Dean of Student Services. She was promoted to Director of Student Activities in 1987 and then Associate Director of the Reitz Union in 1997. Myra also served as the Acting Director of the Union from 2001-2003. She currently serves as Chair of the Campus Student Housing Committee and is a member of the Title IX Compliance Committee. She has previously served as a member of the Lady Gator Committee of Gator Boosters, and the Recreational Sports Board of Directors.

Ms Morgan holds a Master of Science degree in College Student Personnel Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Both degrees are from Indiana University. Her impressive list of professional involvement includes serving as President of the American College Personnel Association and Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Association for Campus Activities. Myra has been recognized as an ACPA Diamond Honoree, NACA’s C. Shaw Smith Award, and Indiana University’s Elizabeth A. Greenleaf Alumna Award.
