American Council on Education Fellows Program

Debra Walker King, Associate Provost for Faculty Development

The American Council on Education is accepting nominations for the 2006-07 ACE Fellowship Program. Now in its 41st year, this program is known for its success in preparing future leaders for executive positions in higher education. David Ward, President of the ACE, comments that the program provides rising administrators and future leaders with “a broad base of knowledge about contemporary higher education, including a greater understanding of state, regional, and federal educational policies.” Information about the program is available at www.acenet.edu/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Fellows_Program1 .

Forward this link to individuals in your college or unit who have an interest in developing their leadership skills as well as those whose current position in administration you would like to encourage through participation in this program. Each university is allowed to nominate two candidates for ACE Fellowship consideration. Interested candidates are asked to contact Associate Provost, Debra Walker King, 235 Tigert Hall, PO Box 113050 by Friday, October 7, 2005 for information regarding University of Florida’s nomination process.
