UF Constitution Day 2005

We are pleased to announce the program of the first annual UF Constitution Day. Pursuant to legislation passed by the U.S. Congress, educational institutions receiving federal funding are required to hold an educational program pertaining to the United States Constitution in September of each year.

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Fredric G. Levin College of Law are pleased to host:

The UF community and the public are invited to attend in person or to tune into the webcast accessible through http://video.ufl.edu.

The nation’s changing political, economic and social climate promises to raise new issues for the U.S. Constitution and those who must enforce it. A distinguished panel of scholars, jurists, and public officials will consider a range of topics including: (1) what changes will pose the greatest challenges to the constitution over the next several decades: 2) how is the Supreme Court likely to respond to those changes; 3) what elements of the constitution will receive the most attention as the court addresses those and other issues; 4) how will the changing composition of the Court condition the kinds of cases the Court hears and the decisions it makes?
