Measles outbreak under control

Dr. Phillip Barkley, Director, UF Student Health Care Center

The Alachua County Health Department has notified the University of Florida that the outbreak of measles reported in early May involving a UF student and several Alachua County residents is under control.

No new measles cases have been reported over the expected time frame for continued risk among Alachua County residents or UF students, faculty or staff. Those students who received medical or religious exemptions from measles vaccine requirements are being advised that they may return to campus. If you still have questions regarding measles, please contact your health care provider, the Alachua County Health Department at 352-334-7900 or the UF Student Health Care Center at 352-392-1161.
