Update On Public Records Disposition Freeze

Will Henson, Director

The Bureau of Archives and Records Management, with the concurrence of the Attorney General’s Office, has determined that records disposition for the state university system may proceed as it did before the freeze was announced, with the following exceptions:

1. Records evidencing the use, sale, regulation, and research of tobacco products.

2. Smoking policies of all university departments and offices.

Public records disposition by all University of Florida offices and departments may continue to proceed according to established state records retention policies and schedules, with the exception of the categories of records mentioned above. This includes public records approved for disposition prior to the freeze, but not yet physically disposed of. If you have any questions, please call or e-mail.
