Spring 2011 Commencement Information

Ceremonies:  This spring, there will be four (4) university-wide commencement ceremonies – one (1) Advanced Degree Ceremony (all colleges; Ph.D., Ed.D., Au.D., D.P.M., D.P.T., Masters, and Specialists), 4:00pm, Friday, April 29, 2011, and three (3) university-wide Undergraduate Degree Ceremonies, 9:30am, 2:00pm and 6:30pm, Saturday, April 30, 2011. All of these ceremonies will be held in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. In addition to the four (4) university-wide ceremonies mentioned above, there are other bachelor degree ceremonies and professional degree ceremonies hosted by individual colleges. Ordering Regalia: The deadline for ordering academic regalia is Friday, March 4, 2011.  Information on ordering regalia is available from the UF Bookstore (392-0194). An order form may be found at http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/commencement/ under the heading, Instructions for Faculty. Payment is required when placing an order. Formal academic regalia is required for all faculty members attending commencement.

Faculty Escorts: Candidates for the Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Education, and Doctor of Plant Medicine degrees will be assigned an official commencement escort. Faculty designated as escorts will receive an e-mail from the Office of the Provost with further details about responsibilities, assembly times and hooding instructions. This e-mail is generally sent two weeks prior to commencement. However, if you have a graduate student scheduled to graduate during the spring semester, please order your regalia on or before the March 4, 2011, deadline.
