Announcement of Name Change – University Bursar, formerly University Financial Services

Michael V. McKee, Assistant Vice President and University Controller

University Financial Services has a new name: University Bursar.

The name “Bursar” has a long and unique tradition at universities, along with other traditional offices such as Registrar and Provost. The Bursar’s Office typically assesses tuition and fees, disburses student financial aid and collects student debts owed to the university. Currently these duties, as well as many others, are all performed by University Financial Services and that will not change.

Additionally, this name change provides clarity for students, parents and the campus community to help distinguish the University Bursar from other campus departments, some of which offer similar financial services.

As a part of this change, our new website address (URL) is: www.fa.ufl.edu/bursar.  Please update your bookmarks as necessary.

Our new email address is: askbursar@admin.ufl.edu. Emails sent to the old address (ufshelp@admin.ufl.edu) will be forwarded to the new address.

Although our name has changed, our goal of providing quality services to the entire campus community continues to be our top priority.

Thank you for your attention to this change. If you have any questions, please contact Ruth E. Harris at (352) 392-0779 or rharris@ufl.edu.
