Nepotism Policy Reminder

Per the terms of the University of Florida Regulations regarding the employment of relatives as available online at http://regulations.ufl.edu/chapter1/1009.pdf —SEE (4), the Provost’s Office must approve in writing the employment of a related person and/or supervisory employee in academic units. If you have a faculty hire situation where a related person will be a supervisor or supervised employee, please consult the regulation for the specific definitions of the conflicts of interest, the definition of the relationships and approval process.

For the Provost’s approval, please submit the written request materials to my attention for consideration by the Provost. The letter and supporting documentation should be sent to my assistant, Ellen Sattler, at esattler@aa.ufl.edu as early as possible in the recruitment and hiring process.
