E/U Grade Processing

Joe Glover, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

As we approach the end of the spring term, you will soon receive new instructions from the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) for submitting grades of E or U.  These changes are related to the university’s responsibilities relative to the annual disbursement of over $312,000,000 in federal Title IV financial aid to our students. This new process will allow us to better determine the difference between an earned E or U grade.  Financial aid for those students who never participated or who stopped participating must be repaid by the university.

To meet the above requirements the submission of an E or U grade will require answers to up to 3 questions.  The answers will allow us to determine whether a student never attended, stopped attending, or completed the course.  It is absolutely imperative that we collect accurate information to assure UF’s compliance with Title IV aid requirements.

We appreciate your help in this process.
