Jodi Gentry, Vice President for UF Human Resources

Following a national search, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Maureen De Armond to UF Human Resources’ leadership team as assistant vice president.

Maureen comes to us from Iowa State University where she served as a member of the Office of University Counsel. As associate counsel at Iowa State, she focused on faculty and staff human resources issues, with practice areas that included labor relations, employment, disability, misconduct, discrimination and health care.

Prior to working at Iowa State, Maureen served as in-house legal counsel, director of corporate compliance and HIPAA privacy officer at Unity Point Health Care System (the Methodist Medical Center of Illinois). Her other experience includes labor and employee relations at Caterpillar Inc.; serving as assistant state attorney in Peoria; and working in private practice representing municipal, state and higher education institutions as well as a range of private industry and corporate clients.

As assistant vice president for HR at UF, Maureen will be working with our employee and labor relations, academic HR and equal employment opportunity efforts. We are pleased to add her expertise to our team and know that UF will benefit greatly from the perspective she will provide in her role. Today is Maureen’s first day; she may be reached at mdearmond@ufl.edu.
