University Reopening and Related Details

We are grateful to faculty and staff who have returned to campus as part of normal operations following Hurricane Irma. While administrative leave is not available to accommodate school closings or general power outages, we ask that supervisors be flexible in these situations, as these circumstances can still be disruptive for our faculty and staff. Personally accrued vacation and sick leave may be used during this time upon request. If appropriate, with supervisory approval, working from home may also be an option.
We will continue to make administrative leave available in limited situations to faculty and staff who are unable to return to work due to significant storm damage and recovery needs, such as flooding, significant tree damage, or blocked roads. Such requests should be coordinated through each college or vice presidential area HR manager or representative. Questions also may be directed to benefits@ufl.edu.
Reminders about time entry for essential and non-essential personnel, as well as information about a micro-grant program to assist faculty and staff with storm recovery, are forthcoming.
