Starting January 2023, UF is partnering with CareSpot to perform pre-employment health physicals. This change in occupational medicine (Occ Med) program will impact new UF employees, as well as existing employees transferring to new positions, that require a health assessment based on essential functions of the job. CareSpot has convenient locations statewide, online scheduling, and operates seven days a week to accommodate all types of schedules.

That fact, coupled with the anticipated arrival of a new president early next year, has led to the decision to pause the dean search this year. After serving as the director of the UF Informatics Institute (UFII) for 8 years, Dr. George Michailidis has decided to step down from this role to take a position in industry. His term as director will end December 31, 2022.
