Albert R. Matheny, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, CLAS Director of the University Advising Center

This is an invitation for all of you to attend the PBS/NACADA Teleconference “Academic Advising: Campus Collaboration to Foster Retention,” to be aired live via satellite downlink on Thursday, November 4, 1999, from 12:45 to 3:45 pm in the University Auditorium.

The downlink is co-sponsored by the College of Engineering and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and we urge maximum attendance at the Teleconference. There is no admission fee, and the conference is open to the public, although the intended audiences are advising personnel, deans, directors, and UF administrative officials.

We will provide information packets that you can pick up in the UF Auditorium and use to follow the conference proceedings as they are televised. In addition, we hope that you will stay after the teleconference. We will break up into moderated discussion groups on key points about retention and advising raised during the teleconference.

The agenda of the teleconference follows here. If you need further details, please contact me (matheny@polisci.ufl.edu) or Janet King in CISE (janet@cise.ufl.edu). Thanks, and I hope to see you on November 4.
