Ed Poppell, Associate Vice President

As we approach the holiday weekend of New Year’s, please be advised that there may be intermediate interruptions of mainframe computing service in preparation for the transition to the year 2000 for some administrative applications such as payroll, purchasing, registration, financial assistance and ISIS. These interruptions of service and accessibility will not be an indication of a problem, but a reflection of our very conservative and methodical transition of our systems to the year 2000. We hope this validation of each system before we put it back into operation will assure a smooth transition. Please advise your staff, students and others of this possible interruption of service during the days of Friday, December 31st, Saturday, January 1st and Sunday, January 2nd. It is our anticipation that on January 3rd it will be “business as usual” for all major and critical applications.

Thank you for understanding and Happy New Year!
