2002 Business Plan Competition

The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) is proud to announce the second university-wide Business Plan competition. Please inform faculty and students in your departments and colleges.
Eligibility: All UF faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to compete for prizes. Additionally, alumni projects may also be entered on the discretion of the CEI Advisory Board.
Prizes: There will be a minimum of $20,000 in prizes in addition to exposure to leading venture capitalists, private investors and entrepreneurs in the judging processes. There will be special prizes for the best undergraduate project; the best graduate student project and the best project using information technology. First prize will be a minimum of $10,000.
Assistance: CEI will sponsor a number of workshops and seminars during the year to assist you in creating your plan. Additionally, CEI will provide direct assistance in its incubator, GatorNest. CEI will help you put together teams and will provide you with mentors to assist you.
Teams: If you are in the sciences or engineering and need business, legal, journalism or other skills, CEI will help you to create a team to compete.
Space: On a competitive space available basis, CEI will provide office space to competitive teams.
Sponsors: CEI sponsors for this event include SI Ventures, Cenetec, and the University of Florida Research Foundation as well as several leading law firms, accounting firms, and venture capital firms.
