Spring 2002 Commencements
David R. Colburn, Provost
After conversations with deans, faculty and students, the president and I have decided to implement a series of changes in graduation with the long-term goal of having all colleges (or a group of small colleges) conduct their own ceremonies. Across the country, many universities have moved in this direction in order to provide a more personalized experience for students and their families.
Currently, the Colleges of Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine conduct individual graduation ceremonies in the spring. This May, for the first time, the Colleges of Engineering and Liberal Arts and Sciences will be conducting ceremonies for their graduate and undergraduate students.
Please contact Steve Pritz at 392-9163 if you have questions or concerns.
