Announcement of a Part-Time Position for Assistant Dean of the Graduate School

The Graduate School seeks an individual for the position of Assistant Dean who will be responsible for the development and implementation of programs for Graduate Minority Programs, recruitment and retention, orientation, and professional development workshops. The individual will report to the Associate Dean of the Graduate School. The following are criteria for the position:

  1. Doctorate or highest degree in discipline.
  2. Evidence of effective organization and communication skills, and sensitivity to issues and concerns of underrepresented groups.
  3. Experience managing grants is strongly preferred. Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Access desired.
  4. Evidence of effective management and decision making skills.

Letters of application explaining reasons for interest in the position, accompanied by a curriculum vitae and the names of three to four individuals who could provide references, should be sent to the Chair of the Search Committee, c/o Dean’s Office, P.O. Box 115500, Gainesville, Florida 32611 by August 2, 2002. The appointment will be effective no later than Fall 2002.
