GatorLink usernames and passwords are currently used to log-on to many university web sites and services, such as ISIS, the Admin Menu, Enterprise Reporting, WebCT and many others. They are also used to sign-on to myUFL. As part of the transition to PeopleSoft, GatorLink password policies need to be changed. The new PeopleSoft systems and single sign-on through myUFL require stronger passwords as well as procedures that make it possible for most users to use self-service web sites to reset their passwords, as at e-commerce sites.

Under the proposed policies, most users will not be required to change their password until their current GatorLink password expires. But a small number of users involved in cross-college financial, budget and system operations will be required to change their passwords on May 5.

Presentations regarding the new proposed policies will be held over the next two weeks at the following times and locations:

April 21st, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
HSC Communicore C1-15, seats 179

April 22nd, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Fifield Hall, rooms 2316-2318, seats 100

April 26th, 10:00-11:00 a.m.
JWRU, Room 282, seats 120

These presentations are open to all and are recommended for college and departmental administrators and technical support people. Stronger password policies will improve security and self-service and will also help position UF for a smoother PeopleSoft transition.
