Federal Regulatory Changes for H-1B Employment

There are two changes in Federal Regulations which will impact UF in the hiring of foreign nationals in the H-1B classification. Colleges are invited to submit nominations for the Teacher/Scholar of the Year Award for 2004-2005. Current faculty members of the University are eligible for consideration for this significant award.

In selecting the awardee, the Committee will be designating a faculty member who demonstrates distinguished achievement in both teaching and scholarly activity (manifested by scholarly research, creative writing, original works of art, etc.) and visibility within and beyond the university. Ceremonies: Spring college commencement ceremonies will be held on Thursday, April 28 – Sunday, May 1, 2005. Please see the Commencement Website at http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/commencement/ for college specific information.

Ordering Regalia: The deadline for ordering academic regalia is Friday, February 25, 2005. Information on ordering regalia is available from the UF Bookstore (392-0194). Payment is required when placing an order; this payment is refundable until Wednesday, April 27. Formal academic regalia are required for all faculty members attending commencement.
