Appointment of Eddie Daniels, Jr. as Executive Director for the J. Wayne Reitz Union and Student Activities

The Division of Student Affairs is pleased to announce the appointment of Eddie Daniels, Jr. as Executive Director for the J. Wayne Reitz Union and Student Activities. Mr. Daniels will assume this position on August 31.

Mr. Daniels has been a union director for nearly 20 years. He served as director at the Russell House University Union at the University of South Carolina for nine years, at the University of Virginia for five years, and most recently at the University of Connecticut since 2000. He has overseen nearly $80 million in renovation and construction during his time as a union director.

Mr. Daniels brings the confluence of facility management experience, student advocacy, and programming creativity that will further the Reitz Union’s stature as a model union and a national leader.

Mr. Daniels holds a Master of Public Affairs degree with a concentration in Personnel Management from Indiana University- Purdue University Indianapolis and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology from Indiana University at Bloomington. He has served in a variety of leadership positions in the Association of College Unions International and is a member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
