2007 Mileage Reimbursement Rate for Travel

The General Services Administration (GSA) has released the standard mileage rates to use for 2007 in computing the reimbursement for operating an automobile for business purposes.
Beginning January 1, 2007, the standard mileage rates to reimburse for the use of a privately owned automobile for business purposes will be 48.5 cents a mile for all business miles driven.
The previous reimbursement rate noted below should be used for all travel occurring on or before December 31, 2006 when reimbursing in January 2007:
Travel Occurred | Rate |
Before 1/1/2007 | 44.5 cents per mile |
On or after 1/1/2007 | 48.5 cents per mile |
