“Preventing Sexual Harassment” Online Training Now Available

Sexual harassment prevention training is now available to faculty and staff online. This “Preventing Sexual Harassment” online training course replaces training certification previously offered through sexual harassment conference attendance (Mini-Conference on Sexual Harassment, GET119).

Employees who have NOT previously attended the classroom training are asked to complete the online “Preventing Sexual Harassment” tutorial by the end of January 2009. To do so, they should sign onto the myUFL system and navigate to My Self Service, Training and Development, Online Learning, “Preventing Sexual Harassment.” New employees are encouraged to complete the tutorial within their first 30 days of employment.

Employees may confirm previous classroom training attendance by checking their training summaries in the myUFL system. To do so, navigate to My Self Service, Training and Development, Training Summary. Classroom training is indicated as “Mini Conf on Sexual Harassment”; under Certificates, it is listed as “Sexual Harassment Certificate.” Reports noting who has attended previous classroom training also will be provided to each dean or director’s office by Larry T. Ellis, Director of Equal Employment Opportunity.

Employee records in the myUFL system are expected to be updated starting in December to reflect completion of the online training. In the interim, employees are encouraged to print the certificate provided at the end of the tutorial for their own records to demonstrate course completion. An 80 percent score on the course’s mastery test is required for training credit to be given. Human Resource Services also will be notified of those employees who successfully complete the training.

As a result of the launch of this online training, all sections of GET119 scheduled for the fall semester have been cancelled, and registered participants have been contacted with this information via e-mail.
