Director of the Honors Program

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Kevin Knudson has been appointed to serve as Director of the Honors Program at the University of Florida, effective June 30, 2009.

Dr. Knudson is a member of Mississippi State University’s mathematics and statistics faculty. He has served as acting director of the Shackouls Honors College at Mississippi State since 2008. Prior to that, he served as associate director of the honors college. He has also directed the Mississippi State Honors Undergraduate Research Program and the Distinguished Scholars Program.

Dr. Knudson completed his doctorate in mathematics in 1996 at Duke University and received his M.S. and B.S. in mathematics from Virginia Tech. in 1991. His research interests include computational topology, discrete Morse theory, homology of linear groups, algebraic K-theory, and equivariant topology.
