Paula Varnes Fussell, Interim Vice President for Human Resource Services

As a federal contractor, the University of Florida is subject to the Veteran’s Readjustment Act of 1974 that requires the university to report veteran status annually for employees and new hires. The university collects veteran status information upon hire; however, due to changes in the veteran status codes, employee data previously collected and stored in the myUFL system is no longer aligned with the new federal reporting requirements.

A mechanism to update this data for current employees is now available through a one-time self service survey application in myUFL. To access the survey, go to myUFL > My Self Service> UF Veterans Status Survey. All employees, including non-veterans, are being asking to complete the survey.

Human Resource Services will launch a communications campaign this week that targets all current employees. We appreciate your help ensuring that all employees in your area complete the survey by September 1, 2009.

If you have questions about the survey, please contact UF Equal Employment Opportunity at EEO@ufl.edu, or (352) 273-1778.
