A new collective bargaining agreement between the University of Florida Board of Trustees and the Graduate Assistants United was recently ratified. We are pleased to announce that the contract provides for an increase in the minimum stipend received by our graduate assistants. Each nine-month employee on a .50 FTE shall receive a minimum stipend of $9,500 for 2009-10 and $10,000 for 2010-11.

The new 2009-10 minimum stipend shall be adjusted retroactively to August 16, 2009. The colleges and departments will fund the 2009-10 increases. Academic Personnel staff will enter the ePAFs for the increase in salary for existing graduate assistants who are not at the new minimum and ensure that the retroactive payments are processed. They will work closely with staff in the affected departments to implement these changes over the next few weeks. Please contact Academic Personnel at (352) 392-2477 with any questions about the process.
