Joe Glover, Provost

It is time to identify candidates for our Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars (ADTS). The ADTS was created to recognize faculty who have excelled as teaching scholars throughout their careers.

The program serves to recognize those who provide the very best educational experiences for our graduate and undergraduate students.

Inductees to the ADTS serve for three years on an advisory board for Faculty Development assisting the Associate Provost in developing programs and promoting policies that enhance the professional careers and experiences of faculty. ADTS members also promote a university-wide discourse on key issues surrounding the integration of teaching and research at the University. Members cycling off the three-year advisory term will retain the title “Distinguished Teaching Scholar” and continue to be part of the ADTS.

An honorarium of $5,000 per year (total of $15,000) will be awarded to each Scholar for their service. These funds can be used as an overhead account. A plaque with the names of the Scholars is displayed in the Provost’s Office.

Please share this information with your faculty and encourage individuals with exemplary accomplishments as a teacher-scholar to apply. The directions for completing the application packet can be found at:
